Band Interview

Crash Recording Music Artist Vicious Circle have nothing left to prove. This group kicks the shit out of most radio ready crap. Here is my interview with them.... How many cd's do you have released and how and when did you gus get started? "We have 2 full length CD's released. That would be Cryptic Void and The Art Of Agony, but we have released many demos in the past. Dave and I started VC in late 1988, after our previous high school band, Denial broke up. We found Mel in 1990, over a local radio show called The Metal Hospital. He was driving in his work truck and heard us on the air, asking if there were any bassist's in the area to fill the open position. He checked out the tunes they were playing after the announcement and he called the radio station for an audition. The funny thing is that we still haven't told him that he got the job! Darrell came into the picture later on in our career. He was always a fan of VC and a good friend for many years. He left the band that he was in to take the open vocal position in 1998. That's basically how it happened." How has Crash Music treated you? "Pretty good, so far. I think every band  expects more attention from their label than they actually get, but that's the music industry! In order to get anything done, I depend only on myself. That way, I know it will be taken care of and I don't owe anyone anything." Any memorable shows to tell us about? "Here's a good one...we played with Morbid Angel at The Trocadero in Philly, during their Covenant tour. As we played our set, there were at least 35 people that climbed onto the stage at once and started a mosh pit! I remember being pinned up against my amp with my back turned to the crowd, so I wouldn't take a Doc Martin to the chin! Anyway, there was this one really young kid that runs up to me and rips my band ID tag off of my pant leg and proceeds to do a back flip into the crowd. Never saw that before, so I'd say he earned that tag. It was great!" What bands have had an influence on you and who do you listen to today? "As far as an influence for VC, there really wasn't many extremely heavy bands from the US when we started, besides bands like Slayer, Possessed, Death, Obituary and Exodus. So, we were really into the foreign bands like Destruction, Kreator, Coroner, Death Row, Sodom, Pestilence, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and most definitely Voivod! (R.I.P. Piggy) My personal influences vary to others styles, besides just Metal. Mostly Al Dimeola, Jimmy Bruno, Allen Holdsworth, Carlos Santana  and guitarists like that. I am really into the Progressive Jazz and Latin Jazz sound. Bands I listen to? Basically, all of the bands I just named as influences, plus a few more like The Crumbsuckers, Ludichrist, S.O.D and I.C.P! Gotta love those Wicked Clowns!!" So many greats. What bands would you go well with? "We've played with so many great bands over the years. We played with Death, Morbid Angel, Machinehead, Cannibal Corpse, D.R.I., Murphy's Law, Nuclear Assault, Napalm Death, Fear Factory, Sodom  and the list goes on. Although, we've never played with Slayer and that would be a most BRUTAL show!" What is your ultimate goal as a band and what would you like to tell your fans? "You mean besides being an adult movie soundtrack? That's always been a personal goal for me! That's true, ya know. Anyway, I'd also like to be on MTV Cribs...that's when you know you're the KING DAD!!! haha! Mainly, I would like to say that we DO love you all and totally appreciate your undying support over the years. It means more to us than you'll ever know and we thank you from the core of our souls. Also, keep your eyes out for our video of the song Live Long And Suffer and our new release that will be out in 2007. See you all on tour and STAY BRUTAL!!!! I would also like to thank YOU, the lovely Misty Haze for this AWESOME interview! I had a BLAST answering these questions. Everyone support Misty and her XXX Girls! They are WAY hotter than any other girls in this industry and trust me....I KNOW my porn!!! Love ya, Misty and keep up the great work!!!"... You guys rock!!! Thanks for the awesome interview!
